Possum Point Players to host play festival March 2
The public is cordially invited as the Possum Point Players will be hosting the Delaware Theater Association Festival Saturday, March 2, in which five Delaware community theater groups will compete for the privilege of moving on to regional and national competitions.
The five groups performing this year are The Everett Theatre, The Reedy Point Players, the Second Street Players, The Wilmington Drama League and The Possum Point Players.
The competition will be held at Possum Hall, 441 Old Laurel Road in Georgetown. Competition will begin at 9:45 a.m., Saturday. Patron tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors and $15 for students. Patron tickets provide admission to all performances and award sessions. No ticketing for individual sessions is available.
Patrons may prepay for tickets by mailing a check to Delaware Theatre Association, P.O. Box 9982, Newark, DE 19714. They may also be purchased at the door March 2 using cash, personal check or major credit card.
DTA sponsors and promotes the annual festival showing off the best and brightest of the Delaware community theater scene. The festival is scheduled to include winning productions from each member theater, performance adjudication by experienced people, and opportunities to network with people from other theaters and states. The winner of the annual DTAFest moves on for additional competition, adjudication and networking at the Eastern States Theatre Association regional level.
