Business owner Bill Anderson appointed to Habitat board

March 8, 2013

Habitat for Humanity has named a local business entrepreneur and co-owner of DryZone, Bill Anderson, to its board of directors.

When Delaware-based and industry-leading co-owners of DryZone Bill Anderson and Gary Lawson learned that Worcester County Habitat for Humanity was building a house that needed a sealed crawlspace, they were happy to donate their services to such a great cause.

Adding to their unwavering commitment to neighbors of their area, Anderson and Lawson  decided to get involved with their local chapter by supporting Habitat for Humanity in Sussex County.

Known for their passion for customer service, the owners realized it was their duty to give something back. Year after year, they believe, the support of their community has helped their business grow, so giving back was just the right thing to do. The biggest testament of customer loyalty was that when most companies were falling apart and folding, their company was growing.

“I am very honored to be a part of Habitat for Humanity, I have always thought that the vision - We give a hand up not a handout - is the real way we can make America a better place," said Anderson, DryZone director of operations.

Every member of DryZone has had a chance to work on a Habitat for Humanity home or other community-based projects throughout Delmarva. "Every person I work with gets really excited when we are given a chance to help someone in need; that is the culture Bill, Heather, Lydia and Gary have made in our company," said Kenny Sharpless, production manager. "We are very fortunate to work for a company that cares about not only the bottom line but its employees and community."

Habitat for Humanity is a Christian housing ministry that has helped build and repair hundreds of thousands of homes serving more than 3 million people throughout the world.
