Barbecue Bob and the Spareribs to perform at Bethany Blues March 9

Barbecue Bob and the Spareribs will bring honky tonk to Lewes Saturday, March 9, when the band performs at Bethany Blues.

The group has been a mainstay of venues in New York, New Jersey and Washington, D.C. for almost three decades.

"We bring a certain energy to it," said Bob Pomeroy, the group's harmonica blowing leader and lone remaining original member. "And we try arrangements that are different. People who come to see us have never seen it done quite the way that we do it." Some have called the music swamp- rock; some have called it trash-a-billy and some have called it butt-shaking blues.
