Lewes Fire Department Auxiliary seeks vendors for May 11 'Fire Sale'
The Lewes Fire Department Auxiliary will hold its Second Annual “Fire Sale” from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, May 11, at Station 1 on Savannah Road.
Anyone looking to sell merchandise, new or used, can reserve a table to display their wares for only $20. The event will be advertised via printed signs, email, Facebook, the department’s electronic sign and a listing in the Cape Gazette.
Space, including the use of a 10-foot table, will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. The sale will run in conjunction with the auxiliary’s Mother’s Day Plant Sale, which will be held Friday and Saturday, May 10 and 11. The event is open to local vendors and will provide a great way to shop for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and graduation gifts.
Members will be selling hot dogs, popcorn, refreshments, baked goods, cookbooks and children’s LFD T-shirts. They will also provide information for anyone interested in joining the auxiliary.
Since 1796, citizens of Lewes have stepped forward to join the ranks of the town's volunteer fire service. For 200 years, the association has been filled with men and women wanting to serve others. Since 2009, the LFD once again boasts an auxiliary. Members maintain the same mission: to serve.
