Richard Shields Elementary School in Lewes had its first Healthy Afternoon program March 14. To promote a healthy lifestyle, students and parents took part activities such as yoga, a one-mile walk, dancing and exercising as well as math and word games. In the school's cafeteria, students ate healthy snacks and learned about how much sugar is in their favorite drinks. Students and parents rotated through a series of 12 stations. The program was presented by the school's health committee: Tim Bamforth; Nancy Thornburg; Lisa Kammerer; Jenn Leach; Linda Fisher; and Carole Short.
