The dust hasn't yet settled on the Rehoboth Beach popup book Joanne DiFiore created with her grandsons last year – probably because copies flew off the shelves so fast – but she's already promoting a new family project she put together with grandson Brian Allen.

This time around, the grandmother and her illustrator grandson have created an interactive tribute to the beach town, the new Rehoboth Beach Coloring and Activity Book.

DiFiore brushes off accolades for the new activity book, which she said was mostly the result of Allen's hard work.

"This is really his book with my calligraphy," she said. "It's one of those books, like the popup book, that people love to look at. It can also be a coffee table book."

The coloring book is filled with much more than renderings of familiar places. Word finds, crossword puzzles, at least two mazes – one is made from Thrasher's french fries; the other is a trail for the Jolly Trolley – and connect-the-dots pictures provide plenty to do while other illustrations allow kids to put their vacation into technicolor.

Just inside the front cover of the 24-page activity book, kids can personalize their books and create mementos from their trips to Rehoboth, listing favorite restaurants and stores, foods to eat and rides to ride at Funland.

Allen, a freelance artist who lives in State College, Pa., said since the popup book was released last summer his career has picked up; he's currently planning to add Rehoboth's Funland to his list of clients nationwide.

Priced to move at $5.99, the coloring book will soon be available at local retailers and is also available online at
