Girl Scouts meet state officials at Legislative Hall

State Rep. Ruth Briggs King, second from right; Sen. Brian Pettyjohn, far left; and Gov. Jack Markell, center back, met March 12 with members of Girl Scout Troop 410 in the governor's Legislative Hall office. The troop members and their leader, Kim Layfield, far right, visited the state capital to learn about the legislative process.

Each of the young ladies came well prepared, asking the governor and the legislators questions about important bills before the General Assembly and why they chose the profession of public service.
