Ruth E, Clough, avid golfer

Ruth E. Clough, 88, of Ocean View, passed Friday, March 15, 2013, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. She was born in Wilmington, Jan. 30, 1925, daughter of the late Charles and Mildred (Thompson) Snavely.

Mrs. Clough resided in Wilmington and worked for the New Castle County Recorder of Deeds before retiring to the beach in 1986. She was an avid golfer and played many rounds at Sussex Pines Country Club, where she was a member. Mrs. Clough enjoyed the beach, but her love of golf will be remembered the most.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Clough was preceded in death by her brothers, William Snavely and James Snavely. She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Joseph; two daughters, Karen Marshall and husband George of Ocean View, and Constance VanOrmer and husband Richard of Wilmington; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
