American Cedar & Millwork will be 'Lighting It Up Blue' April 2

Observing World Autism Awareness Day
March 29, 2013

American Cedar & Millwork Inc. has announced it will be “Lighting It Up Blue” Tuesday, April 2, in celebration of World Autism Awareness Day.  Blue lights will shine on the exterior of their showroom building located on Highway One south in Lewes.

Each April 2, Autism Speaks celebrates Light It Up Blue along with the international autism community, in commemoration of the United Nations-sanctioned World Autism Awareness Day.  Light It Up Blue is a unique global initiative that kicks-off Autism Awareness Month and helps raise awareness about autism. In honor of this historic day, many iconic landmarks, hotels, sporting venues, concert halls, museums, bridges and retail stores are among the hundreds of thousands of homes and communities that take part to Light It Up Blue.

“As the grandparent of a child with autism, I know firsthand the difficulties and challenges faced each day by these children and their families, said Mike Neal, owner and president of American Cedar & Millwork Inc.  “We are pleased to participate in this year’s Light It Up Blue campaign to show our support for Autism Speaks and to raise awareness of this growing health concern.  We hope that other local businesses will join us in this endeavor.”
