Delaware Hospice and Visiting Angels to host free presentation April 13
April 2, 2013

Helping Hearts, a new program of Delaware Hospice, helps families and caregivers of patients with advanced cardiac disease provide care at home and avoid hospital readmission.

Cardiac patients, families and caregivers are invited to a free lunch and presentation on the prevention and management of advanced cardiac symptoms by Delaware Hospice's Associate Director of Education Katie Berna.

The presentation will take place from 12:30 to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 13, at the Hampton Inn, 18836 Coastal Highway, Rehoboth Beach.

Berna will also discuss how patients can have a Helping Hearts Care Team make visits to their home to provide assistance with symptom management and medication management.

A complimentary heart-healthy lunch will be provided courtesy of Visiting Angels Home Care. Visiting Angels provides living assistance to seniors and disabled adults to help them remain independent in their own homes.
