Adopt-a-Family spring collection drive set for April 20

The Kent/Sussex Human Services Council is sponsoring a spring collection drive for Kent/Sussex Adopt-a-Family at three locations. The group will accept donations from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 20, at the Milford State Service Center, 13 SW Front St., Milford; at the Laurel State Service Center, 31039 North Poplar St., Laurel; and at Kmart Shopping Center, 4634 Highway One, Rehoboth.

Needed are new or clean and gently used household items such as sheets, blankets, towels, washcloths and kitchen towels; kitchen items such as pots, pans, cooking utensils, flatware, dishes, bowls and small appliances; cleaning supplies; and baby items such as crib sheets and blankets, sleepers, baby towels and washcloths, and new diapers and wipes. No furniture, please.

Adopt–a-Family provides these items year round without charge to families and individuals who have been referred by social service agencies when there is a particular need to be met.

Also needed are donations of non-opened and non-expired canned and boxed food items such as meats, vegetables, fruits, peanut butter, pasta and canned sauces. Breakfast items are also useful. Food items will be given to the local state service centers.
