Cape baseball drops a 6-3 game to Milford

April 1, 2013

Cape played a baseball game at Milford March 28 on a seriously cold and windy spring day.

Milford was a state finalist last year but Cape, trying to get back on the contending track, battled the Bucs in a close game, falling 6-3.

Tom Saxon of Milford hit a towering two-run homer in the bottom of the 5th inning that put the game out of reach.

Phillip Berry went the distance for the win, pitching a four-hitter.

Diaz Nardo was 2-3 for the Vikings.

Griffin Kammerer with 5 innings and Kai Vitella with 2 shared the pitching duties.

Cape plays Smyrna at noon, Saturday April 6. The Eagles are 3-0 with wins over Delmarva Christian 8-2, Indian River 15-3 and Seaford 15-0.
