5X5: Five Painters' Art Show and Sale to run April 26-May 21

April 8, 2013

5X5: Five Painters' Takes on a  Photographer's Shots will take place from Friday, April 26 to Tuesday, May 21, at the Lydia B. Cannon Museum in downtown Milton.  A wine and cheese reception, free and open to all, is set for 6 p.m., April 26.

Five artists. Five photos. One theme. Five members of the Milton Arts Guild are each producing five paintings based on five photos of the Milton area, including Prime Hook, taken by local photographer Keith Steck, also a MAG member.

The show is the brainchild of Raymond Petersen, one of the five artists. In addition to Petersen, the participating painters are Jean Bowers, Eddie Filemyr, Aurelio Grisanty and Earl Norman. The show provides five interpretations in two media to reflect the beauty of Milton and the surrounding area. The five artists selected the five photos from 12 that Steck took in and around Milton.

All artwork and photos will be for sale. The Milton Historical Society museum is  at 210 Union St. in Milton, right across the street from the library. For more information, call 202-841-2081.
