Aquacare Physical Therapy provides specialized osteoporosis program

Aquacare Physical Therapy, with offices in Lewes, Millville and Millsboro, is offering a specialized osteoporosis therapy program.

This program emphasizes a comprehensive treatment strategy for men and women who have been diagnosed with osteoporosis or osteopenia. After an initial evaluation by a physical therapist, patients will be seen for a series of visits addressing proper posture and body alignment, balance training, diet recommendations and specific exercise strategies to strengthen bones and muscles.

According to the National Osteoporosis Foundation, osteoporotic fractures are more common among women than heart attack, stroke and breast cancer combined, yet because the condition has no warning signs, few women with the condition are diagnosed or treated.
