Shields Elementary School recently participated in a community service project to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Through the Pennies for Patients campaign, students and staff raised $2,068.16 to support research, education, and patient services.
Several students took the lead in this community service project and assisted with the coordination and collection of pennies that will be used to help find a cure for both childhood and adult blood cancers.
