Caesar Rodney defeats Cape boys and girls track teams

Cape and CR dominate Dover

The Cape boys' and girls' track teams hosted Dover and Caesar Rodney April 16 with each team soundly defeating the Senators, the girls 119-23 while the boys bested Dover 111-33.

But the Riders doubled down Cape, beating the girls 84-61 while also defeating the boys 96-50.

Tyra Reid of Caesar Rodney, a junior honor student, won the 100 in 13.1, 200 in 26.3, and 400 in 61.9. Reid also anchored the 800 relay to a first-place finish.

Cape won both hurdles races as Amanda Hurst was victorious in the 100m in 17.1, while Tyra Weatherly won the 300m in 51.8.

Cape’s Kadijah Doughty won the shot put at 38-feet-5-inches, discus 90-2 and long jump 16-1.

The Cape boys only won the 3,200 relay on the track against Caesar Rodney with a team of Solomon Cox, Jevon Sample, Amir Conley and Austin MacElrevey, who ran 8:30.

Mike Miller won the shot put at 42-6, while Lucas Reis won the long jump 20-6 and high jump 6-0. Jeremiah Cohen won the triple jump 44-7.

Cape will compete at Twilight Relays Friday night, April 19, at Caravel Academy.
