Delaware Tech Owens Campus celebrated Earth Day and Arbor Day with a ceremony that included a proclamation by Georgetown Mayor Mike Wyatt and the planting of six new trees around the campus. Georgetown is in the process of becoming a Tree City USA, and the Owens Campus is trying to become a Tree Campus USA.
One of the trees planted this year is a dawn redwood, which is one of the trees of the state. Pictured (l-r) are Georgetown Town Manager Eugene Dvornick, Wyatt, Owens Campus Collegiate FFA Advisor Daniele Kidd and Delaware Tech Green Club Advisor Kelly Davis.
