Walkers go on trek in memory of Betty Gooch

Tech Walk helps keep Shields Elementary on cutting edge
April 29, 2013

Richard Shields Elementary School had its 11th annual Tech Walk April 19 to help raise funds to purchase additional technology for the school and classrooms. This year's event was held in memory of Betty Gooch, the school's computer teacher who worked for the Cape Henlopen School District for 36 years. She passed away June 5, 2012, after a struggle with cancer.

Money was also raised over the weekend to start a scholarship in her honor.

Each year, the school holds the event to raise money to supplement its technology budget. This year, money from the walk will go to pay for iPads and applications.
