The Cape girls' track team, fresh off a surprising team victory at the Twilight Relays April 19, lost at home to Smyrna April 23, 95-51. Cape defeated Lake Forest in the same meet 111-35.
What it all means is up to coaches to disseminate; suffice it to say Cape remains a dangerous animal the bigger the meet.
Smyrna’s Raven Luckett, a junior academic/athletic superstar won the 100 in 12.5 seconds, the 200 in 25.9, long jump 17-feet-6-inches, and high jump 5-0.
Cape won the 400-meter relay against Smyrna with a team of Doughty, Hollins, Weatherly, Boyer in 51.6.
Kadijah Doughty won the shot put 39-7 and discus 99-9. Melissa Aucoin won the pole vault with a jump of 7-6.
Meghan Hart set a personal record in the meet, clearing 5-0 in the high jump, and won the triple jumps against Lake Forest 31-2.
Lake Forest’s Tyesha Purnell won the high jump in 5-2.
