Shore Bank partners with Delmarva fire companies

May 6, 2013

Shore Bank announces its recent partnership with two area volunteer fire companies. Shore Bank provided financing to the Onancock Volunteer Fire Department to place the first brand-new 100-foot Pierce Arrow aerial ladder truck in service on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Shore Bank also financed the Parksley Volunteer Fire Company’s latest addition to its fleet - a 2012 Pierce Saber pumper.

The 100-foot ladder truck, Ladder 9, was placed into service in December and has been used on multiple fires. The ladder truck is the first of its kind to the area and has required much training. The truck provides an option for aerial rescues, elevated water streams for extinguishment and a safer elevated workspace for firefighters.

The 2012 Pierce Saber, Engine 73, was placed into service in January and has been in operation on several fires. The Parksley Volunteer Fire Company is the busiest station in Accomack County. The truck is equipped with the newest technology, tools and equipment available. Shore Bank’s partnership with the Parksley Volunteer Fire Company provides this busy station with the luxury of responding with two fire engines when necessary.

Shore Bank is a sponsor of the upcoming 84th Annual DelMarVa Firemen’s Convention to be held at the Parksley Volunteer Fire Company from May 2 through 4. Shore Bank would like to encourage the Eastern Shore community to visit the town of Parksley, Va., during the event to show support for the local fire companies. Ladder 9 and Engine 73 will be on display.

Shore Bank is a full-service community bank with seven conveniently located branches from Cape Charles, Va., to Salisbury, Md. Shore Bank also has loan production offices in West Ocean City, Md., and Rehoboth Beach.
