Learn to make Mother’s Day charms at Heidi Lowe Gallery May 11

May 3, 2013

In conjunction with Rehoboth Beach’s Second Saturday Art Walk, Heidi Lowe Gallery is opening up its studio from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, May 11, so patrons - including children - can easily and quickly make their own charm pendants for Mother’s Day.

“For Mother’s Day, we’re offering families the opportunity to make their own one-of-a-kind charm pendants that moms will cherish because they are made specially for them,” gallery owner Lowe said. “I started making jewelry when I was a child, and making a charm or pendant is a fun way to introduce children to jewelrymaking. So, I want to pass the tradition on and provide a different way for children to make gifts and learn a new art.”

Families can stop by the gallery anytime between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. Saturday and make individualized pendants or charms. Children, accompanied by an adult, can stamp a short message or quote for mom, children’s names or initials, and if they choose, add birthstones. It takes 15-30 minutes to make a charm. Silver chains are provided at an additional cost so the charms can be made into necklaces.

Heidi Lowe Gallery is at 328 Rehoboth Ave. in Rehoboth Beach. For more information, visit www.heidilowejewelry.com. For questions about scheduling or to reserve a class, contact the gallery at 302-227-9203.
