Milton-based Sposato Landscape Co. Inc., in conjunction with the Professional Landcare Network’s Day of Service, has donated its time and skill sets to two separate service projects this year. The first project was to clean up and replant the six raised vegetable garden beds that were a part of the Extreme Makeover Home Edition for Dale Dunning of Jusst Sooup Ministries.
Members of the Sposato team spent the morning removing weeds, adding compost to the beds and planting kale, collard greens, spinach, peppers, tomatoes, green beans, cabbage, butternut squash, zucchini and watermelon.
Dunning was very grateful for the gesture, stating that she couldn’t have done it on her own. Sposato Landscape Account Manager Denise Bradshaw, who was the orchestrator of the event, said, “It was the best day I ever had at work. It was about helping others and working with great people.”
The Sposato Landscape Ocean View office held its Day of Service at the Home of the Brave in Berlin, Md., providing edging, mulching and weeding services to beautify the property. Home of the Brave’s mission is to support America’s combat veterans and their families by providing a relaxing environment where they can reconnect after a combat military experience. Founder Tina Pearson began Home of the Brave in 2009, which operates solely on donations so veterans can stay at no cost.
Sposato Landscape Ocean View Branch Manager Rich McCracken said, “Tina provides a wonderful service to our nation’s heroes, and we are happy to be able to donate our time and efforts to create a relaxing, beautiful retreat for them.”
