Fairy-tale worlds collide at Riverfront Theater starting May 17

May 11, 2013

Second Street Players Children's Dessert Theater presents "A Walk In The Woods" opening at 7 p.m., Friday, May 17, at the Riverfront Theater, 2 S. Walnut St. in downtown Milford.

Subsequent shows are at 1 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, May 18 and 19. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the door, or for the family-affordable Friday show, patrons may pay what they can afford. "A Walk In The Woods" blends the tales of Goldilocks and The Three Bears, Little Red Riding Hood, the Three Little Pigs, and Hansel and Gretel into one delightful play while staying true to the original stories.

Goldilocks is on the run from the Three Bears but takes time to help Red Riding Hood. Along the way in the woods, they are saved by the Woodsman from the zany Wolf. Before long, this fractured fairy tale has brought along others in Mother Goose's village, including Jack Horner, the Butcher, the Baker and the Candlestick Maker in a show with lots of energy fresh humor, and fun for every generation.

Director Sharon Buchanan and Assistant Director Lauren David bring this story to life with help from kids and adults of all ages. For more information go to secondstreetplayers.com.
