Local artists take part in Dover Days contests

Paul Rendel of Milton took third place in the Plein Air contest.
Gerilyn Gaskill won the Artist's Choice Award in the Quick Draw contest with her depiction of the Gov. Charles Terry Garden.
Local artists participated in the recent Dover Days Plein Air and Quick Draw contests in Dover. Although some days were a challenge weatherwise, the artists persevered to have a rewarding contest and show. The contest was judged by Milton plein air artist Denise Dumont.
The 2013 Plein Air Paint Out award winners include Joshua Nobiling, first place; Diane Joy Laird, second; Paul Rendel, third; C. Mercedes Walls, Artists’ Choice; and Dennis Young, People’s Choice.
In the Quick Draw contest, the winners were Ray Petersen, first place; Donald A. Parks, second; N. Taylor Collins, third; Gerilyn Gaskill, Artists’ Choice; and Dennis Young, Peoples' Choice.
