Local Knights of Columbus hold anniversary dinner dance

May 11, 2013

The Father Capodanno Assembly, No 2413 held its 17th Anniversary Dinner Dance at American Legion Post 28 recently. Attended by 4th Degree Sir Knights and their ladies, the event had 63 local participants in black tie attire.

The 4th Degree is referred to as the patriotic degree in that its primary duties are to respect and obey all lawful authority and defend and protect the flag of the country and the principles for which it stands. Also, the Knights attend many church and public affairs in full color regalia.

The Assemblies’ namesake Father Capodanno was a Congressional Medal of Honor winner in Vietnam for his heroic actions in healing and comforting the wounded and the dying on the field of battle while a member of the 1st Marine Division in 1967.

The Knights of Columbus is the largest Catholic men's organization in the world whose primary mission is charity. Any Catholic gentlemen over the age of 18 interested in joining the Knights are asked to call Jack McGinley at 302-945-0698.
