East Coast Garden Center in Millsboro announces the grand opening of a new three-part Easy as Pie Container Gardening Department. The grand opening consists of custom container design and planting services along with grab-and-go options to satisfy a range of customer container gardening needs.

Three locations in the store will focus on container gardening: container gardening showcase, where well-known container designer Karen Fox will offer custom container creation services; a courtyard featuring a wide selection of grab-and-go containers in various sizes and color combinations plus the Plant Pie drop-in container insert; and a container idea wall where five complete container gardens including coordinated hanging baskets, patio planters and window boxes will be on display along with the ingredient plants for each collection.

In addition to the opening of the Easy as Pie Container Gardening Department, the store will also offer wine and lemonade refreshments for mothers and their families on the patio of the adjacent Cordrey Center.

An Edible Gardening class  is scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, May 11, and a Reblooming Shrubs class is at 1 p.m., Sunday, May 12.

Therapeutic Massage by Lana Short will be offered from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, May 12.

The Cordrey family business has evolved into multiple divisions over the years and continues to grow in its local mission. It started with RSC Landscaping Ltd. in 1990 and soon grew to include East Coast Garden Center, a growing operation; The Cordrey Center; and Cordrey Charities Inc. The magnificent property that houses these divisions includes 16 acres, and 70 greenhouses and display gardens.
