The infamous 17th hole lives up to its reputation once again!

Tiger Woods won the Players Championship this past weekend, but he also almost gave the tournament away, which is very atypical for him. He made a terrible double bogey on the14th hole on Sunday when when his tee shot landed in the water hazard. This let a whole bunch of people back into the tournament, including Sergio Garcia, who ultimately blew any chance to win. Sergio's tee shots (yes, plural) on the infamous 17th hole went into the water not once but twice! He was actually tied for the lead with Tiger before this hole. It's really a shame because he was playing some of the best golf we've seen from Sergio in a long time.

So I totally messed up last week forgetting to mention the Kentucky Derby. A horse named Orb won on a sloppy, muddy track coming all the way from the back of the pack. I personally am more excited to see if this horse can win the Preakness and give rise to some excitement to take the Triple Crown come June when the Belmont occurs.

Now that the Philadelphia Flyers' weak hockey season is over and they are out of the race, I won't pay much attention to the hockey playoffs until the Stanley Cup finals. But I do want to mention the seventh game between Toronto and Boston because some hockey history was made. Boston came back from a 4-1 deficit to win the series in overtime with three of the four goals occurring late in the third period. I made sure I caught the highlights on that one!

This week marked the beginning of the high school lacrosse playoffs for the boys. Cape won very easily in the first round. Hopefully they can keep this momentum and continue to do well at the Saturday, May 18, game. It would be a flat-out miracle if they could make to the final game and pull off a win against Sallies! The girls start their playoff round this weekend. Cape girls could very well take the state championship once again.  Let it be so!
