Oh Boy! to perform June 22 at Village of Five Points

Walt Hetfield, Mike Long, Ken Schleifer and Barry Eli to perform at community center
June 5, 2013

Oh Boy! rockabilly band will be taking the stage on the back porch of the Community Center beginning at 7 p.m., Saturday, June 22, at the Villages of FIve Points for the first of three free concerts presented for the public. The band was formed for a one-time only concert to honor the 50th anniversary of the plane crash that killed Buddy Holly.

The band, and the concept of the show, became a big hit and they have since expanded to where they can play any venue with their rockabilly sets or break into some early classic rock if needed.

Members of the band are Walt Hetfield on lead guitar and vocals, Mike Long on rhythm guitar and vocals, Ken Schleifer on drums and vocals and Barry Eli on upright bass, electric bass, keyboards and vocals. Bring a lawn chair and some food and beverages and enjoy an evening of great All American Rockabilly.

Other concerts in the series feature the Wise Guys, Saturday, July 13, also at 7 p.m. Led by popular local musician Michael Daisey, the band plays mostly the local scene in Lewes and Rehoboth. They play a mix of classic rock and current hits and will be making their first appearance outside at Villages of Five Points.

The final concert will bring back The Honeycombs at 7 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 3. The band, led by Honey Voshell, is a long-time favorite in southern Delaware, playing rock oldies and classic rock hits.
