Sibyl Mackenzie works featured at Paintiques Gallery during Mosaics Second Saturday June 8

"Geisha Afternoon," by Sibyl Mackenzie.
June 7, 2013

Paintiques Gallery will premier artist Sibyl Mackenzie during Mosaics Second Saturday Artwalk from 6 to 9 p.m., Saturday, June 8.

Mackenzie's latest works are vibrantly colored and hauntingly mystical. "I have always enjoyed realistic images, but I like to place them in a context where fantasy meets reality, to explore the fine line between the inner and outer world,"  she said.

Mackenzie's work reflects her years spent in foreign lands as seen in her Emperor Series and "Geisha Afternoon." In her other paintings Mackenzie explores the relationships and friendships among animals and between animals and people to express the feeling of communion in this troubled world.  Paintiques Gallery invites all to visit the gallery, meet the artist and enjoy her unique and wonderful style of capturing dream-like beauty on canvas.

The reception will be further enhanced by a culinary creation from chef Jay Caputo of Espuma.
