Lewes American Legion Auxiliary says thanks

June 16, 2013

American Legion Auxiliary Unit 17 in Lewes would like to thank the local community and businesses for their participation in our May Poppy Month activities.

First, I would like to thank this newspaper for its generosity to the American Legion family. Without the publicity from our local newspapers, our fundraisers would not be successful. We appreciate all of your support throughout the year.

Thank you also to our local businesses for allowing our members to stand outside and share the history of the poppy. Those businesses include ACE Best Hardware, Atlantic Liquor, Dollar Tree and Food Lion. Also, Walmart, WAWA and WGMD Talk of Delmarva host Mike Bradley.

Thanks also to Principal Trish Mumford and fifth grade teachers at Milton Elementary School for their participation in the poppy poster contest.

We could not continue to support our veterans without each of you. Thank you.

Dee Whelan
Poppy Chairman
American Legion Auxiliary Unit 17 Lewes
