Scooter parking behind the Rehoboth Beach Fire Department has been relocated towards the back end of the parking lot.
City Manager Greg Ferrese said the change was made because the new blacktop put down for the scooters had not totally hardened before the area was put into use. The weight of the scooters with the kickstands down was putting holes in the fresh blacktop, so to prevent scooters from falling over and being damaged, Ferrese said he had the parking moved about 10 feet to older blacktop.
Ferrese said the former scooter space would be used for car parking.
