Werner Sumpf Jr. will be sorely missed

June 20, 2013

Our community lost an icon May 29 - Werner Sumpf Jr. - a friend to all and a stranger to none. Werner was a master boat mechanic, but could fix most anything that needed fixing, and usually did so for a couple of Buds, or for nothing at all. What Werner lacked in material wealth he made up for in spirit, soul and kindness. And how humbled he would have been to see how his family and friends came through for him in the end, rallying together to ensure he was laid to rest with the dignity, honor and respect he so deserved.

Thank you to everyone in the community who so generously gave money, food, their time and their prayers in honor of our friend, whom we so greatly loved and respected. Thanks to Al and Kristen at Paradise Grill, PotNets Bayside; to the commander, members and staff at American Legion Post 28; and a special thank you to Gus, Linda, Jen and the staff at the Riverside Grill, River Road, for your generosity offering your space, providing food, and coordinating a 50/50 benefit.

We rocked it for Werner, our friend, whom we miss so dearly, and who will forever remain in our hearts.

Friends and Family of Werner Sumpf Jr.
