Delaware State Fair Dance Mob seeks members

Rehearsal scheduled for July 16 at fairgrounds
June 21, 2013

First State Academy of Dance invites all dancers and those who just like to dance to join the Delaware State Fair Dance Mob. For those who are not familiar with the term, a dance mob is a group of people who assemble in a public place, perform for a short time, and then disperse back into the crowd.

Michele Xiques and Gene Knowland from First State Academy of Dance will choreograph the dance mob, but they are in search of all eager people who want to learn the dance.

The first 200 participants who sign up will receive free gate admission for the day to be given out at the one mandatory rehearsal on the fairgrounds.

Participants are asked to learn the choreography online through a YouTube video, but there will be a mandatory rehearsal scheduled at 7 p.m., Tuesday, July 16, at the free entertainment tent on the fairgrounds. Here, Xiques will do a run-through of the dance and participants will receive their admission tickets.

Those who are unable to make the rehearsal may still participate but with no free gate admission. Those interested should email dedancemob@verizon.net to receive a free registration form. Participants don't have to be dancers to do this routine. The Delaware State Fair runs July 18-27 in Harrington.
