Midway Assembly of God offers Kingdom Rock Vacation Bible School

Sessions run June 24 to 28
June 20, 2013

Midway Assembly of God will host Kingdom Rock, its 26th consecutive Vacation Bible School, from Monday, June 24 through Friday, June 28, starting nightly at 6:45 p.m. All children age 3 through early teens are welcome. Due to the structure and activities of the Vacation Bible School, children under 3 may not participate, and nursery services are not provided.

Over the past years, Midway Assembly of God has hosted themed Bible schools that have provided an atmosphere that immerses children in the theme and creates a fun setting in which to hear stories, sing songs and learn important lessons from the Bible. In 2012, more than 100 children participated, most of them attending every night. The children are given a daily challenge that helps them apply the nightly theme at home.

This year’s theme, Kingdom Rock, includes a giant castle complete with a drawbridge, a catapult, shields and more. Pastor Gary Ross said, “We do our best to create a setting that is not only a lot of fun, but it also allows the children to use their imagination to learn important lessons that will help them in life.”

The activities each evening begin with an interactive time of music that includes guitars, drums and singers that get the children fully involved in singing. Then the children are placed in age-appropriate groups, supervised by a minimum of two adults. The Vacation Bible School staff includes more than 40 adults who supervise all activities and provide support to the teaching and ministry staff. All staff members have completed mandatory background checks. All parents are welcome to observe all classes and activities each evening.

There are no fees. An offering is received each evening, and all proceeds are used to fund the next year’s Bible school. Midway Assembly of God is on Route 1 at Old Postal Lane, near Bob Evans Restaurant. Children 3 and older may be registered by calling the church at 302-645-9643, online at or at the door every night. Preregistration is highly recommended. Due to facility size, the number of children who can participate is limited.
