William C. Horner, Bethlehem Steel retiree

William C. Horner, 95, of Sussex East, Lewes died peacefully Friday, June 21, 2013, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes, of pulmonary fibrosis.

Bill retired from Bethlehem Steel, Baltimore after 18 years working as a crane operator. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Lewes. He was a generous and gentle man who loved the Lord.

He is survived by his loving wife, Madeline, who shared 20 years of happiness with him. He leaves one son, Norbert Horner of Edgewater, Md.; three daughters, Patricia Sparkman, Arlene Szcarek and Janet Douglas, all of Brooklyn, Md.; three stepsons, Louis Wingo of Westminster, Kenneth Wingo of Phoenix, Md. and Wayne Wingo of Boise, Idaho; two stepdaughters, Jim and Donna Follkening of Haslett, Mich. and Judith Bremmerman of Boone, N.C.; two stepsons, Raymond Bremmerman of Rehoboth and Richard Bremmerman and wife Tam of Pahrump, Nev. and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday  June 27, at Calvary Baptist Church, 318 South DuPont Highway, Georgetown.

Memorial gifts may be designated for either First Baptist Church of Lewes, 1001 Kings Hwy., Lewes, DE 19958, or to Calvary Baptist Church, Georgetown, DE 19947.
