Lyle Lovett & his Acoustic Group to perform at The Freeman Stage July 10

Texas-based singer, composer and actor Lyle Lovett will bring his Acoustic Group to The Freeman Stage at Bayside in Selbyville Wednesday, July 10.

The legendary Lovett has a gift for storytelling and song craft. Since his self-titled debut in 1986, he has evolved into one of music’s most vibrant and iconic performers. Lovett has broadened the definition of American music in a career that spans 14 albums. He fuses elements of country, swing, jazz, folk, gospel and blues to craft catchy and compelling songs beloved by fans.

He is known for songs including “Cowboy Man,” “If I Had a Boat,” “Lights of L.A. County,” “San Antonio Girl,” “She’s Already Made Up Her Mind,” “She’s No Lady,” “Church,” “My Baby Don’t Tolerate,” “That’s Right (You’re Not From Texas,” “Private Conversations,” “Up in Indiana” and many more. He has recorded with Keb Mo, Allison Krauss, Randy Newman, k.d. lang, Jerry Douglas and many others including Vince Gill and Emmylou Harris. Lovett has won four Grammy Awards, including Best Male Country Vocal Performance and Best Country Album, and he won the Americana Music Association’s inaugural Trailblazer Award. He was recently named the Texas State Musician.

For this acoustic show, Lovett, backed by Viktor Krauss, Russ Kunkel, Luke Bulla and Keith Sewell, will perform songs from his newest CD “Release Me,” which spent several weeks at No. 1 on the Americana charts.
