Rehoboth Museum to host Acoustic Jam Night July 11

Reservations are a must
July 3, 2013

For a blast from the past, don’t miss the Rehoboth Beach Museum’s re-creation of Acoustic Jam Night, the famous open stage held at The Front Page Restaurant & Bar from 1984 through 1993. This first revival of Jam Night in 20 years will take place at the museum Thursday, July 11, from 8 to 11 p.m., in conjunction with the “Beach Eats” exhibit of historic restaurant memorabilia.

The museum is located at 511 Rehoboth Avenue. Reservations are a must - only 100 will be taken, so call the museum at 302-227-7310 to reserve a spot.

Some of the original players will perform at the July 11 event, including Ken Thompson (who will travel from Pittsburgh to attend), Bill Robertson, Steve Wilson and Mike Long, all members of the house band that accompanied many other performers.

Terry Plowman, owner of The Front Page and longtime emcee of Acoustic Jam Night, will host the museum event and will perform as well. The duo who helped launch the event in 1984, Rim and Kathy Vining, plans to travel from Virginia to join the fun. Also joining in will be Rim’s brother, local performer Stuart Vining, and Stuart’s singing partner, Amy Felker. Other probable players include Walt Hetfield, Pete Wiedman, Kent Shoch, Bill Richardson, Nik Everett, Ron Carey and others.
