RAL receives donation for 75th anniversary raffle at cottage tour

Cottage Tour is Tuesday and Wednesday, July 9-10
July 5, 2013

The Rehoboth Art League’s 75th Anniversary year has been the catalyst for many exciting events and activities so far this year. For the 64th Annual Cottage Tour of Art, it brings the inclusion of significant art collections in the eight homes on the tour. In addition, Bellinger’s Jewelry has brought back a past tradition with the donation of two specially designed pieces of jewelry that will be raffled after the tour.

The donation by Bellinger’s Jewelers includes an 18-inch sterling silver pendant with filigree chain and a cufflink set, each shaped as the Rehoboth Art League’s palette. Each palette is beautifully set with three stones: ruby, sapphire and citrine. The pendant and cufflinks are on display at the Rehoboth Art League and at Bellinger’s Jewelry.

Tickets are $1 for one ticket and $5 for six tickets. Each item will be a separate raffle. Raffle tickets are available at the Rehoboth Art League and at Bellinger’s Jewelry. The drawing for the raffle will be held Thursday, July 11. Winners will be notified and need not be present to win. Proceeds from the sale of the tickets will benefit programs at the Rehoboth Art League.

The Cottage Tour is Tuesday and Wednesday, July 9-10, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Tickets for the Cottage Tour are $30 per person. The ticket is good for both days of the tour. Tickets are on sale at the following locations: in Rehoboth, Rehoboth Art League, Bellinger's Jewelers, Browseabout Books, Design Center of Rehoboth, Early Attic Antiques, Farmer Girl Exotic Gardens, J. Conn Scott Showhouse, Tomato Sunshine, Windsor's Flowers & Plants; in Lewes, Community Bank of Delaware, Lewes Gourmet, in Fenwick; Carolina Street; and in Bethany, Sea Needles.

J. Conn Scott, the underwriter for the tour, will decorate the interior of the historic Peter Marsh Homestead. Jolly Trolley and Echelon Custom Homes are sponsors for the tour. The Heritage Exhibition: Birth of An Art Community is also on display in the Homestead through July 14.

Because parking is limited at many of the house locations, the Rehoboth Art League is providing Jolly Trolley transportation for Cottage Tour ticket holders. Parking will be available at the Rehoboth Elementary School parking lot located at 500 Stockley St., Rehoboth Beach. Shuttles will begin running at 9:45 a.m. on the days of the tour.
