Fireworks may be illegal in Delaware, but that doesn't deter people from shooting them off along the Cape Region coast. BY RON MACARTHUR
Lewes may not have a sanctioned fireworks event on July Fourth, but thousands turn out on the beach each year to watch pirate fireworks displays. This year's fireworks – from at least a dozen launch sites up and down the beach – lasted more than two hours. Fireworks from other Delaware Bay beach towns and Cape May, N.J., could also be seen in the distance.
