Pirate fireworks along the Delaware Bay

A large crowd in just one section of the beach gathers in anticipation of a holiday light show. BY RON MACARTHUR

Lewes may not have a sanctioned fireworks event on July Fourth, but thousands turn out on the beach each year to watch pirate fireworks displays. Fireworks from other Delaware Bay beach towns and Cape May, N.J., could also be seen in the distance.
