Barbara Ellen Smith, explored her creativity

Barbara Ellen Smith, 61, of Ellendale, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Bayhealth Medical Center, Milford. She was born in Lewes, on Jan. 22, 1952, daughter of the late George and Mary Townsend.

Mrs. Smith grew up and lived in Ellendale all her life. She raised with her husband five beautiful children whom she adored. She enjoyed cooking family meals, telling stories, and being there for the family. In her free time she enjoyed tending to her lovely garden, or starting a new arts and crafts project. She especially enjoyed exploring her creativity and going out to see what she could find at the Sunday yard sales and flea markets. Mrs. Smith was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her loving and devoted husband of over 38 years, Dale F. Smith; her three sons: John Farrell, Jody Farrell, and Joe Farrell and his wife Linda Mitchell; her two daughters: Barbara and Mary Farrell; four brothers; two sisters; four grandchildren: Mellissa, Melony, Zachery, and Emily Farrell; and her beloved two miniature ponies and five Chihuahuas.

All services will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Dodd-Carey Chapel, Georgetown.
