Rehoboth psychotherapist selected for 'Covington's Who's Who' registry
Helen Fenerty-Lage, a psychotherapist and life coach of Excel Thru Action, has been selected as an honored member of the "Covington Who’s Who Executive and Professional Registry." The selection recognizes Fenerty-Lange’s commitment to excellence in healthcare and counseling.
Fenerty-Lange, who holds a master’s degree in clinical social work with honors from Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work, is a licensed clinical social worker of more than 27 years through the Pennsylvania and Delaware Board of Professional Regulation.
Beginning in 1983, Fenerty-Lange worked in a temporary position as an abuse investigator with Montgomery County Children and Youth when she was invited to apply as an outpatient psychotherapist with Livengrin, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center. It was here that she began her training with those suffering drug and alcohol addictions and the beginning of a very rewarding career in the field.
Now the owner of her own private practice, Fenerty-Lange provides individual, couple and family counseling to clients who are having difficulties in their lives. Her main goal is to create a supportive environment so they can discover greater insight into the issues that keep them stuck, heal their wounds, develop healthier coping skills and take those new actions into their lives outside of work.
Although her graduate school provided her a great foundation and is recognized for having the best training program to become a couple and family therapist, Fenerty-Lange credits her on-the-job training for helping her excel in her field.
“I’ve had some great supervisors who have helped me grow as a clinician and, in consequence, have been able to help my clients grow,” she said. “My clients have also helped me to refine my skills as a therapist. Every client I’ve worked with has taught me something. Seeing people overcome their difficulties and grow because of the work they’ve done in therapy is one of the best feelings in the world.”
Fenerty-Lange’s five-year goals are having other clinicians working with her while she moves into more of a supervisory role, continuing to maintain a small caseload of her own and ultimately helping as many clients as possible.
