Annual Milton Garden Tour dodges deluge

July 22, 2013

Milton Garden Club's 14th annual Garden and Homes Tour was host to about 300 people. After a deluge of rain July 12, the gardens were a spectacular display for the July 13 walking tour. Participants were pleased to meet the hands-on gardeners and homeowners at each garden.

The Milton Arts Guild participated in a big way this year, providing several artists, including painters, jewelers, folk artists, photographers, musicians, wood carvers and florists stationed at each residence.

The plein air painters entertained guests at a reception in the Lydia B. Cannon Museum with the finished paintings and discussed what they painted.

Tour goers remarked at the hospitality at each garden where there were often extensive refreshments. The money raised goes back to the town of Milton's gardens and flower boxes.
