Deadline for ticket purchase is July 30

Friends and board members of the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition are hosting a unique fundraising event at the beach in September, with the proceeds benefiting breast cancer patients. The event, Message in a Bottle, will sweep guests back in time, offering up delectable food, lavish entertainment and unforgettable fun.

The event is being held seaside at the picturesque Indian River Life Saving Station south of Dewey Beach starting at 5 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 14. Event chairs Susan Chinnici, Kelly Meoli and Patti Key said, “This is the first time the committee has hosted such a unique event. There will be no tuxedos or suits. We want guests to have fun in resort attire and relax by the ocean. We think it’s appropriate that we’ll be working to raise money to save lives in a building with the same namesake.”

Meoli said upon arrival, guests will have their picture snapped on the red carpet and will then be treated to steel drum music, a cigar lounge, sea spa hand and foot treatments, a live band, a s’mores bar, a candy bar and a variety of food stations all prepared by Bonz, one of Delaware’s premier restaurants.

The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition was founded in 1991 and has helped thousands of people deal with the trauma and emotional stress that come with being diagnosed with breast cancer. The coalition raises awareness of breast health issues in Delaware through outreach, education and support to help facilitate early detection and treatment of breast cancer.

Tickets cost $250 per person and can be purchased at dbcc.ejoinme.org/message. Checks can also be made payable to DBCC and mailed to: A Red Carpet Event LLC, 29254 Park View Drive, Dagsboro, DE 19939. The deadline to purchase tickets is Tuesday, July 30.
