Lewes BPW to discuss Madison, Railroad bid

The Lewes Board of Public Works will meet at 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 24, in City Hall. Agenda items include discussion of accepting a bid for restoration of Madison and Railroad avenues submitted by Teal Construction. The company submitted a base bid of $351,000, and an addendum bid of $102,000. The panel will also consider George Miles & Buhr Engineering’s $25,000 fee to provide contract management and $33,800 fee to provide resident project represen­tation.

The board will discuss the 2012-13 audit report presented by Andrew Haynie of PKS Inc. and accepted by the board. The panel will discuss setting a five-year capital improvements plan workshop for 1 p.m., Friday, Aug. 16, in City Hall. Rehoboth communications committee to meet

The Rehoboth Beach Communications Committee will meet at 9 a.m., Friday, July 26, in the city commissioners’ room to discuss an overhaul of the city website. The meeting will include a report and discussion with the city’s information technology supervisor, Max Hamby, on the status of the website overhaul and a timeline for moving forward.

There will be updates on implementing an online program to access supporting documents for city commissioners’ meetings, amending the retention time for online access of audio recordings of city meetings and better identifying public speaking opportunities at commissioners’ meetings.

Finally, the committee will discuss a potential program for the city to issue welcome letters to new property or business interests.
