Warren Dale Bailor, lifelong military man

Warren Dale Bailor, 75, of Millsboro, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Renaissance Healthcare, Millsboro. He was born Monday, June 28, 1937, in Liverpool, Pa., son of the late Herbert J. Bailor Sr. and Evelyn P. (Marks) Bailor.

Mr. Bailor served a lifelong career in the military spanning more than 37 years. While in the service he held various positions including: personnel staff NCO, intel sergeant, operations sergeant major (in Grade E-9), and lastly sergeant major of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard up until his retirement July 29, 1992. Mr. Bailor wasn't ready for retirement yet though, as he went on to work for Giant Foods for a few years before retiring completely in 1994 and moving to Millsboro to fully enjoy his retirement.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Bailor was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 50 years, Donna J. Bailor in 2009; and his sister Helen Edmeads. He is survived his son, Wayne D. Bailor of Grantville, Pa.; his two daughters: Debra J. Lewis of Harrisburg, Pa. and Jennifer R. Bailor of California; his brother: Ray Bailor of Maryland; his three sisters: Dorothy Trout of Ohio, Deanna Woods Kauffman of Camp Hill, Pa., and Rita Walters of Copperas Cove, Texas; and his dear friends whom he considered like family, Jacquelyn Rams Martin and her husband William A. of Lewes, and their daughter, Keren L. Rams, whom he adored.

Mr. Bailor was laid to rest next to his wife at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro. All services are private. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Bailor’s name to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
