Cordrey Charities, a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing the joys and benefits of gardening to the Sussex County community, invites businesses, organizations and individuals to sponsor its Second Annual Corn to Run 5K, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 28.

The unique 5K is held in a 200-acre cornfield across the road from East Coast Garden Center in Millsboro. The 2012 event drew nearly 400 runners and attendees, and even more are expected in 2013. Levels of sponsorship begin at $100 and include patron’s name on the official race T-shirt as well as website and social media recognition.

Donors of $250 and up will have both their names and logos on the T-shirts, recognition on the website and social media, and an ad in the event program. Donors of $250 receive a quarter-page ad, with donors of $500 and $1,000 receiving a half or full page ad, respectively.

Cordrey Charities' inaugural aloe program for second-graders at East Millsboro Elementary School earlier this year was a great success and will be expanded upon and brought to other local schools in the coming year. For information and photos from this year’s program, go to
