Registration now open for Easter Seals' Walk With Me Delmarva

Oct. 13 event will raise funds for services
August 5, 2013

Families Supporting Families is the theme of Easter Seals Delaware and Maryland’s Eastern Shore’s first Walk With Me Delmarva event and fundraiser. The walk is scheduled for 3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 13, at Baywood Greens, 32267 Clubhouse Way, Long Neck.

It will unite hundreds of participants in southern Delaware and Maryland’s Eastern Shore to raise funds for Easter Seals services in order to impact the lives of local individuals and families living with disabilities.

“Delmarva’s Walk With Me is an opportunity for families, friends, neighbors and colleagues to walk together to support services for families living with disabilities in our local community,” said Leslie Gale, event coordinator. “Easter Seals directly serves more than 1,930 individuals with disabilities and their families in lower Delaware and on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, but there is more work to be done. We are excited to see the community come together to help other people who could benefit from our services.”

Every individual in Walk With Me will be paired with an Easter Seals Honorary Ambassador - a child or adult with a disability directly benefiting from Easter Seals’ local programming - and have an opportunity to meet in advance of the event, learn about his or her personal story and cross the Walk With Me finish line together.

Registration for this year’s Walk With Me is now available at either www.walkwithme.org/delmarva or by contacting Leslie Gale at 302-253-1100, Ext. 1121 or lgale@esdel.org. For local walk updates, route maps and more information about how to get involved go to www.walkwithme.org/delmarva.
