LYC team finishes second in youth regatta

The Lewes Yacht Club junior sailing team competed in the Indian Landing Boat Club Junior Regatta on July 25 in Millersville, Md. Spencer Copeland (skipper), Daniel Hauschild (crew), Daniel Lowe (skipper) and Lily Zekiel (crew) represented LYC in the 420 class, and Maddie Smith represented LYC in the Laser class.

The regatta comprised six races in each class. Copeland and Hauschild took second place in the 420 class. The team faced tough competition from Annapolis Yacht Club, Severn Sailing Association and several other competitive teams. The team will travel to Miles River Yacht Club for its third and final regatta of the season Tuesday, Aug. 6.
