Sign of the times?

August 7, 2013

Who says DelDOT has no money for Sussex County improvements?  They actually installed two of these "Water on the Road" signs last fall on New Road just outside Lewes.

Maybe they forgot to take them down, but say it is an improvement.

If they don't have the money to raise the bridge and approaches, here's what they should really do: Take down the signs that say "Evacuation Route."  By "delisting" New Road, they can eliminate the liability they might incur by sending people down a road that gets flooded by high tides, much less a hurricane.

Let's wait and see what happens in this hurricane season.
